The news is out! Our nutritional workshops were a resounding success, not to mention a milestone for AiLA as we continue to bring impactful life skills to Edmonton’s autistic community.
The workshops were held over the fall and winter of 2025/26. Our final wrap up party, attended by about 15 people, was at the Centre for Autism Services Edmonton - many thanks to Ewa for donating their spacious kitchen! Ewa is in the bottom right photo, being presented with her gift bag by Leanne Carr, AiLA president.
The season-ending session featured TACOS in a bag, and a chance to say thank you to all the participants with a gift card and an apron with the AiLA logo.
Fall and Winter Workshops
We are pleased to announce we are offering nutritional workshops again this fall and winter in a slightly different format. They will start in September and will run for four sessions only. They include a short educational session, followed by an opportunity to cook two low-cost, nutritional meals to take home and enjoy.

A big thank you to everyone who brought their enthusiasm for learning.
A special Thank You to the Keith Kerber Fund and Eldon and Anne Foote Community Fund for supporting these workshops through the Edmonton Community Foundation.
Nutrition classes Bringing healthy cuisine forward
- We heard from participants that classes were impactful and inspired better diets.
- We’ve started a cooking club chat, where AiLA members share tips and recipes.
- We’ve started discussions on how to foster a future cooking club opportunity.
