We are pleased to announce we are offering nutritional workshops again this fall and winter in a slightly different format. They will start in September and will run for four sessions only. They include a short educational session, followed by an opportunity to cook two low-cost, nutritional meals to take home and enjoy.
Session Requirements
These sessions are best suited for someone with some level of cooking skills as there are limited volunteers available to help. Family or friends are welcome to join in to help.
Dates
They will run one Saturday a month from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Sept 26, 2026
- Oct 24, 2026
- Nov 28, 2026
- Jan 23, 2027
There will be no session in December
Registration
We are limited to a maximum of 15 participants, so it is important to register early.
To register, please email info@ailaedmonton.org by September 15 at 4 p.m.
Just like last year, we will take names for a waitlist if space becomes available.
When you register, please indicate:
- Any allergies
- Dietary restrictions
- Ideas of what you would like to cook
- Something special you would like to learn how to cook in a more cost effective and/or healthy way
Cost
AiLA has not received any grant funds for these workshops. There is a minimal fee of $10 per session for the participants.
Parking and transportation will not be reimbursed.
We apologizes for this. If we do receive a grant between now and the start date, those fees will be waived, and we will look at paying for transportation. Each participant will also have two meals to take home with them.
AiLA is proud to partner with Autism Edmonton, The Centre for Autism Services, the Edmonton Food Bank and the Edmonton Public Library to bring this program forward again.
